time to brag some

This would be one of those times where Dustin would smirk at me making a remark about bragging and then I'd respond, "No, but seriously!" to which he would laugh outright. Thanks to him, I've become all too aware of how often I use the phrase "No, but seriously!" as a vain attempt to insert some sort of validity into what I say.

But seriously.
I've been really surprising myself lately. For example:

Surprise! I changed my blog layout. Not the most exciting thing, but hey, it's fun, right?

This is rather old, but my Reading and Constructing Narratives midterm? Try 100%, babe. And it's an essay test, not multiple choice. Feels good. I need that kind of momentum going into finals.

Now, Dustin and I have been earnestly trying to empty our freezer, so that it may be filled again once my parents arrive at the end of April. (Love you guys! And if you don't want to fill our freezer, that's fine!) This means two things: One, if you are hungry, please come over. I will happily seat an extra place for dinner. Two, I have become better than I ever expected at using strictly what I have in the home. Last night I used leftovers and scraps to create cheesy ham and potatoes, spinach souffle, and a green salad in lemon balsamic vinaigrette. What's more, it was all completely from scratch - no can o'condensed soup nonsense here. Go resourcefulness!

(And I'm serious about dinner. Send me a text and come on over.)

Finally, I am conquering bureaucracy, slowly but surely. Little old me - terrified of phone calls and such - has made appointments, persisted through hold music, and kept asking questions. It's just a matter of time before I get the Pell Grant money I was told I would get. And insurance? Psh. Under control.

Alright, enough bragging. They're really just a bunch of silly things, anyway. But why not celebrate the little victories, mon amies?

Nice work on all fronts. I approve of the aesthetic changes and a big "well done" with your culinary and educational triumphs.
